Fifty years with fur
In 1954 the breeders in Norway, Finland and Denmark decided to form common sales and marketing platforms. The sales channels resulted in the establishment of the Nordic auction houses in Finland, Norway and Denmark. In 1960 the Swedish breeders and their auction house, Nordic Fur Auctions, joined the SAGA cooperation. Today all SAGA labelled mink and fox skins are sold exclusively at Finnish Fur Sales in cooperation with Oslo Fur Auctions.
SAGA FURS® mink and fox are bred on farms where the ethical treatment of animals has always been an important part of the approach to farming. This high standard of care has resulted in the finest quality mink and fox skins in the world, which are sold at the auction house in Helsinki. A rigorous grading system sorts the skins by type, sex, size, colour, density of guard hairs, silkiness and resilience.

Repeating oneself simply bores everyone, but -- looking back at all the fur featured in fashion this past year – we just have to repeat ourselves. Once again we can state, that never before have we seen such a presence of SAGA FURS® on the catwalks.

Designers have deftly used SAGA techniques to approach their creations from new angles.
